Cheeny
Our Rescue

Cheeny Bean, or Tiny as my husband calls him, is our rescue dog.  He came to us at the age of three months as police evidence.  Darrel works as a guard for the local police department.   Late one night they had arrested someone for credit card fraud.  In their possession was a terrified little puppy who had been purchased on that credit card at a pet store.  Darrel phone me and asked me to come take the puppy home.  We had not planned on keeping him and did not even know if we would be allowed.  When the case was concluded, the pet store refused to take Cheeny back and the credit card company told Darrel that he could keep him if he wished.  By this time we had become so attached to him that there was no giving him up.  My one concern and stipulation was that if there was a conflict between him and my shelties or, worse yet, my sheltie puppies, the SHELTIES came first.  We had our answer very quickly with the arrival of a litter.  Not only was he not a problem, he paces the floor while the mom’s are whelping.  As the puppies grow older and begin to play, Cheeny socializes them.  He wrestles with them and teaches them to play and not once has he ever hurt or even nipped at one of them.
